Making a Dementia-Inclusive Resource Centre

During a planned renovation to our space in 2019, we transformed our office into a Dementia-Inclusive Resource Centre to better accommodate people living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.

Take a virtual tour of our office and find out what it means to be dementia-inclusive.

Meet our team

Adrienne McNair, First Link Coordinator

Adrienne McNair

Hi, I’m Adrienne—the First Link Coordinator for Fredericton and surrounding areas. I offer support and a listening ear, provide education and resources and organize recreation and programs for those affected by the disease. I’ve been working with older adults living with dementia for over 5 years, and I’m so pleased to continue this work with the Alzheimer Society. It is a privilege to support those living with dementia and their care partners travelling the dementia journey.

Brenda St. Germain, First Link Support

Brenda St. Germain

My name’s Brenda and I’m the First Link Support in Fredericton and surrounding areas. Along with my colleague, Adrienne, I serve as the first point of contact for people who reach out to the Alzheimer Society. We listen, assess, gather information, and create a network of supports for each client based on their unique needs. As a former sole caregiver to someone living with dementia, I found tremendous support through the Alzheimer Society. They connected me with information and programs, and addressed my questions and concerns. I’m honoured to now be in this role, and I hope to give back at least some of what we received.
