Enhancing Care for Ontario Care Partners
Our clinical services and group programs help care partners manage the day-to-day care of the person living with dementia, reduce emotional stress and burden, and improve their ability to cope with the demands of caregiving.

CARERS Program:
- Eight weekly sessions, two hours per session, six care partners max in group
- Focuses on practical skills and emotional supports needed to care for people living with dementia
- Teaches problem solving techniques, a structured approach to address problems
- Coaches care partners in communication skills through the use of simulation
- Provides strategies for keeping a meaningful relationship with the person living with dementia

TEACH Program:
- Four weekly sessions, 1.5 hours per session, eight care partners max in group
- Focuses on common caregiving themes including:
1. Self-care
2. Health-care system navigation
3. Relationship changes
4. Future planning
- Coaches care partners in practical communication and coping skills
- Provides opportunity to share and learn from other care partners
